Health Guarantee & Care Policy
A healthy start matters long after your kitten comes home.
This policy explains the health information provided with a kitten, what buyers should do after homecoming, and how health concerns should be handled.
Health information provided
Kittens Boutique will provide the health information available for the individual kitten as part of the purchase or handover process.
This may include relevant veterinary records or other health-related information applicable to that kitten.
Veterinary care after homecoming
Once a kitten enters the buyer's care, ongoing veterinary care becomes an important part of responsible ownership.
Buyers should establish a relationship with a qualified veterinarian and follow professional advice regarding routine examinations, preventive care, nutrition and any kitten-specific needs.
If your purchase agreement requires a veterinary examination within a particular period, follow the timeframe stated in that agreement.
Buyer care responsibilities
A kitten's health after leaving Kittens Boutique is influenced by the care and environment provided in the new home.
Buyers are responsible for providing appropriate:
- food and fresh water;
- safe indoor living conditions;
- veterinary attention when needed;
- clean litter facilities;
- appropriate grooming for the breed;
- safe exercise and enrichment; and
- protection from preventable household hazards.
If a health concern arises
If you believe there is a health issue that may relate to the condition of the kitten at the time of sale, contact Kittens Boutique as soon as reasonably possible.
Depending on the circumstances and the terms agreed for the kitten, you may be asked to provide veterinary documentation or other information relevant to the concern.
Emergency medical treatment should never be delayed while waiting for a response from Kittens Boutique.
Health guarantee terms
Any health guarantee offered for a kitten is governed by the specific written terms provided with that kitten's purchase agreement.
The guarantee may contain conditions, time limits, veterinary documentation requirements, exclusions or available remedies. Buyers should review those terms carefully before completing the purchase.
What a health guarantee does not mean
No breeder can reasonably promise that an animal will never become sick or require veterinary treatment during its life.
A health guarantee should not be understood as lifelong veterinary insurance or a promise covering every future medical condition.
Health concerns caused by accidents, improper care, environmental hazards, exposure after leaving the breeder, failure to obtain appropriate veterinary care, or other circumstances outside the breeder's control may fall outside applicable guarantee terms.
Once they're home
Good care continues with you.
The first days in a new home involve a lot of change. A steady routine and careful observation can make the transition easier.
Keep the first days calm
Give your kitten a quiet place to settle before introducing the entire home at once.
Avoid sudden diet changes
If you want to change foods, transition gradually unless your veterinarian advises otherwise.
Watch appetite and behavior
Changes in eating, drinking, energy, litter habits or breathing may be reasons to contact a veterinarian.
Ask when something feels off
Your veterinarian is the right person to diagnose or treat medical concerns.
Important
A health guarantee supports responsible ownership. It doesn't replace it.
Buyers remain responsible for providing appropriate nutrition, housing, veterinary care and everyday care after a kitten leaves Kittens Boutique. Where a specific written health guarantee is provided, its terms govern that kitten's coverage.
